I recently decided that pickling is going to be my new thing because almost anything is better pickled and salted. It was decided a few years ago that pottery was my forte as well. The thought is I can combine tasty homemade food in handmade dishes. I am sure only my family will read this. My mom thinks my pickling antics are hilarious, but all readers are welcome to join my pickling adventures!
I have always loved pickles and since living in San Francisco my obsession with anything pickled grew. Who knew pickled carrots, green beans, onions and olives could be so dang good?! My husband and I recently moved back to Colorado, and I find myself in a new apartment making a huge mess overwhelmed with the fumes of vinegar and loving it.
My pickling adventure recipes can be found in my new bible, “The Joy of Pickling” by Linda Ziedrich. There are 250 recipes and in 2012, I intend to try the majority of them.
