CAULIFLOWER FOR GINA
I still get really excited when others embrace my pickling. My good friend and her husband came out for a visit and a little Colorado R&R. We had a glorious weekend enjoying the mountains, and when she requested pickled cauliflower I was happy to oblige. I used the same Jardiniere recipe as above and I hope the results are just as good. Gina you can expect your jar of spicy happiness in the mail in three weeks.

A MEDLEY OF VEGGIES

Last weekend my husband; my parents and I went on our annual Russian River Valley Barrel Tasting weekend. There was of course a plethora of great wine and nibbles, but I also stumbled (quite literally) upon an amazing old-timey General Store. The store offered various pickled goods. I decided to make my own Jardiniere. What is so great about a recipe like this is that you can use almost any vegetable you have on hand. I added a small whole habañeropepper to each jar for extra spicy flavor- hopefully this didn’t over do it!

PICKLED VEGGIES & MOZZARELLA
Last night, my husband and I ventured to the new Lucky Pie Pizza & Tap House in Denver. Much to my delight pickled vegetables were offered on the menu, which wasn’t super surprising (pickled goods seem to be popping up on menus everywhere) but what was surprising was that they were offered accompanying the homemade mozzarella. Pickled carrots and cauliflower were a great compliment to the cheese, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. This combination will definitely show up at my next gathering.
